Orewa and Auckland Farewell

Our last few days with Lynn's parents Phil and Rheba were spent in the beachside community of Orewa and in the biggest NZ city of Auckland. We enjoyed seeing the boats and going up in the Sky needle pictured in the back of the above photo.Lynn and wondered if Janice of Wyoming was an American and if so what they thought about Pacific Island sailing medical missions ( a suggestion from our friend Hugh).
Pappa seemed to really enjoy watching and playing with the kids. There was mention of this cool rocking and spinning swing being replicated in Knoxville!

It was such a pleasure to get to have the time together with our family and to show them a corner of the world.

The boys caught this Tennessee Titans game but we missed the Florida national championship game.
The Orew condo had a spa pool and heated swimming pool that we went to most days even though the weather was overcast.

Like Dorothy says, "There is no place like home." It was a blessing to have a piece of what makes "home" special come to us for a few weeks.

It's amazing that you ran into Gene Baillee when he was so influential in your going on this yearlong adventure! Jim Craig
