Queenstown

The road trip to Queenstown went through the mountains over bridges with streams of Caribbean blue water running off the glaciers.

The kids had fun playing play-doh and watching movies like The Lord of The Rings Return of The King. It was amazing to see the movie and recognize the back drop similarities. The road curved it's way to the end point of Queenstown which reminded me of what Lake Tahoe looks like in pictures.

We parked the camper in this up scale lake side town and headed for the top....overview via Gondola (see Gondola car above Andrew's head) and then rode chair lifts (see below) a little higher up to do the luge run several times.

It's an expensive town but with every extreme sport you can think of we won't be for lack of options. Don't worry, with helmets and age limits we may make it to the next town despite things like hang gliding, parachuting, canyoning, and bungy jumping. The latter saw it's commercial birth here. The Pacific Islanders did it long before using vines tied to their feet. We have seen old video footage where the vine was a little too long but men just jumped up with pride after hitting the ground. I don't think we will be trying it, pride or no pride. Maybe some nice scenic flights over the mountains and glaciers. Some pics of that will come tomorrow.
